The Van der Ham Family Office is a private wealth management firm dedicated to overseeing and managing all aspects of our family’s financial affairs. The Van der Ham family legacy began with the transportation of cargo along on the Rhine River in Europe, where the family became renowned for their reliability, precision, and timely delivery.
In the latter part of his career, Hendrik van der Ham shifted his focus to marketing and communication, where he became a pioneer in innovative marketing strategies. One of his notable ventures was BRIDGES2000, a company that provided safe access and bridge solutions across Europe, founded in the late 1990s.
Today, the Van der Ham Family Office plays a central role in managing the family’s diverse investment portfolio, making strategic decisions about asset allocation, real estate, equities, bonds, and alternative investments such as private equity and venture capital.
Hendrik van der Ham took a distinctive approach to investing in real estate, with an equal split between real estate development (50%) and commodity trading (50%). His goal was to fund and realize sustainable, eco-friendly projects. He famously asked, “Why are oil and gas platforms so easy to invest in, while green projects face so many challenges?” Driven by the need for change, he developed a new strategy that allowed for the successful realization of green initiatives. Today, many environmentally sustainable projects are made possible thanks to this innovative approach.
